Chromecast 4k issue with generate image on tv

edeheer

Since May 14, 2025, my chromecast 4k suddenly no longer works on my television.

I have also connected the cromecast to another television (samsung model 2022) but it is not found there either.

No chromecast image is displayed.

The weird thing is when the cromecast connects to my computer monitor it does work and also through my denon amplifier I just get an image.

Are there more people who suffer from this problem?

Hi edeheer,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry to hear your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) has suddenly stopped working on your TVs (including the Samsung 2022 model) since May 14, 2025. However, it is working correctly with your computer monitor and Denon amplifier. I'll be happy to help!

To help me find the best solution, I have some questions for you:

  • How far is your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) from the router?
  • Is there a status light on your Chromecast with Google TV (4K)? If so, what color is it?
  • Is the TV tuned to the same HDMI input where the Chromecast with Google TV (4K) is plugged in?

Please keep me posted. I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Juan

Hi edeheer,

Thanks for following up! Having your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) two feet away from your router is within the acceptable range for it to work perfectly. The solid white light means your Chromecast is connected to the network and ready to begin casting content or is already casting content. Let's dive into some steps to troubleshoot this inconvenience.

1. Check if your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) firmware is updated.

  • To check if your Chromecast with Google TV firmware is up to date, find the build number. If it's not up to date, please reboot your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) (unplug it from its power source, wait one to two minutes, then plug it back in) to attempt to receive the update.

2. Verify if your Chromecast with Google TV (4K) works with your TVs again.

Let me know how it goes. I look forward to your response.

Regards,
Juan

The firmware is up to date but it does not resolve the problem
